Asturias PGI faba beans selected by Tierra Astur, ideal for ‘fabada’ bean stew, hotpots and other dishes typical of Asturias cuisine. The Asturias Faba PGI beans are traditional Asturias white beans. Their skin is one of the most remarkable characteristics, being finer than others on the market.
Asturias Faba PGI beans achieved recognition as a Protected Geographical Indication in 1996 and 250-300 tonne of legumes are now produced every year.
Its production is closely associated with life in the Asturias countryside. It has been grown alongside corn for a long time and skills for growing corn were refined for growing beans.
Tierra Astur Asturias Faba PGI beans are presented in three formats: 500 g vacuum packed, 1 kg vacuum packed and 5 kg bags.
